Precisely targeted blocks to interrupt pain signals from the head and neck.
A nerve block places a small amount of local anesthetic right where a specific nerve carries its signal, quieting that pathway so the pain eases. It does double duty: the relief you feel afterward tells your physician whether that nerve really is the source, which guides what comes next. Blocks are done in the office with imaging for accuracy, take only a few minutes, and you go home the same day. If a block helps but the relief fades, ablation can extend it by interrupting the same nerve for longer.

Injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication directly to an irritated joint, disc, or nerve root in the neck and upper spine - where a tablet would have to reach the whole body to get there. Calming that inflammation often brings the relief that makes physical therapy possible, so the injection becomes a step toward lasting progress rather than the whole plan. Like blocks, they are image-guided, done in the office, and tell us something useful about where your pain is coming from.

When head and neck pain has not responded to blocks, injections, or medication, neurostimulation offers a different approach: a small implanted device interrupts pain signals on their way to the brain. Nothing is permanent up front. You start with a short trial using temporary leads, so you can judge the relief in your own daily life before deciding on an implant. Only if the trial genuinely helps do we move forward.
