Nerve blocks and ablation to calm pain in the hip, leg, and knee.
When hip, leg, or knee pain travels along a nerve, a block quiets that pathway with local anesthetic placed exactly where the nerve runs. The relief afterward also confirms the diagnosis, which matters when knee pain could be coming from the joint, the nerves around it, or referred from the back. For knee pain in particular, genicular blocks that work well can be extended with radiofrequency ablation - an option worth knowing about if you are not a candidate for joint replacement, or would rather postpone one.
Treatments we may useTargeted joint and soft-tissue injections for the leg, knee, and foot.
Foot, ankle, and knee pain often comes from a single inflamed joint or band of tissue, and an injection delivers anti-inflammatory medication straight to it. For conditions like plantar fasciitis or a Morton's neuroma, that targeted relief is frequently what allows normal walking to resume - and normal walking is what keeps the rest of the chain from being thrown off. Injections are image-guided and done in the office.
Treatments we may useAblation, stimulation, and joint therapies for lasting relief.
These options are for pain that keeps returning after blocks and injections have helped only briefly. Ablation interrupts a nerve for a longer stretch, stimulation interrupts the signal with a small implanted device, and viscosupplementation adds lubricating fluid to an arthritic knee. Which one fits depends on what your earlier response told us - the trials and blocks you have already had are what point to the right choice.

IPA, gotta love this Place. I have been with them for years… LaRa Turk, what can I say about her. My favorite PA. The whole office is very family friendly and always leaving there with a smile.
Receptionists are always kind, caring, and welcoming. The nurses and very helpful and always make sure to ask how your day is going, while leading you to your room. The doctors are timely and responsive to my needs. This is the place to be!
Been receiving treatment at IPA for more than a year. They take their time and consider your other medical issues when exploring treatment options. I never feel rushed or pressured to proceed with any treatments I don't agree with. And all the doctors and staff are very nice.
